Hard Waiver Student Eligibility
Are automatically enrolled in this insurance plan at registration and the premium for coverage is added to their tuition billing unless proof of comparable coverage is furnished.

All full time domestic and Non F1, J1 Rutgers Visa Sponsored students taking at least: 12 credits for Undergraduate, 9 credits for Graduate, and ALL F1, J1 Rutgers Visa sponsored students are automatically enrolled in this insurance Plan and the premium is added to their tuition billing, unless proof of comparable coverage is furnished.
Visiting Scholars, EOF, PALS and Early Start Programs are required to purchase this insurance Plan, unless proof of comparable coverage is furnished.

Full-Time Domestic & Non F1,J1 Rutgers Visa Sponsored Students
You are required to have health insurance to attend Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. You must complete an on-line waiver or enroll in the University’s policy each semester.
Ph.D and Ed.D students taking only research credits and Part-Time considered Full-Time by the student’s department are Eligible to enroll.

F1, J1 Rutgers Visa Sponsored Students
Are automatically enrolled each semester by the Center for Global Services. Students can submit a waiver form for themselves, or enroll a dependent at: http://globalservices.rutgers.edu

All full-time Postdoctoral Fellows and eligible dependents (at fellow’s expense) will need to complete a Health Insurance Enrollment form. Postdoctoral Fellows in a legacy UMDNJ position at Rutgers should submit the enrollment form to the RBHS Risk & Claims Office.
Postdoctoral Fellows in a Rutgers position should submit the completed application to their department.

Failure to waive online before the deadline will result in a non-refundable charge and students will be responsible for the premium even if you have other health insurance coverage. Full appointment TAs/GAs are eligible for the State Health Benefits plan. You must enroll with University Human Resources (UHR).
